From the youngest to 1st year of ESO, students have been able to learn the how, when, what and why of aromatic plants, medicinal plants and other fruits and vegetables that the earth gives us.
Taking advantage of the good weather and being a time of growth and planting new seeds these last few weeks with the help of Regina (gardening specialist) and Montse (school mother, pioneer of composting at home), the students of 'Elementary' through different workshops have had the opportunity to get closer to the gardening, he urban garden and the composting.
We have taken care of the space, we have prepared the land and we have decided, together, how to organize our garden: Aloe Vera, cucumbers, lettuce, pumpkins, strawberries, tomatoes, mint, artichokes, rosemary, thyme... each plant and each cutting with enough personality to have a privileged place, taking into account the depth and quality of the soil, the hours of sunshine, and other particularities such as the rate of growth and the amount of water they need.
Did you know that there are worms that are very useful to us? Did you know that rosemary is Rosmarinus Officinalis in Latin? And what about the Thymus vulgaris can it also be called rudder or thyme?
At CreaNova we have once again applied the learning by doing in all its essence!
Thank you Regina and Montse for your explanations and dedication to all of us!
