Academic news: CreaNova School reinforces its commitment to innovation

CreaNova School, recognised for its pedagogical approach Learning by Doinghas started a new school year with novelties that reinforce its commitment to personalised education and the integral development of its students.

Individualized tutoring
One of the main new features of the 2024-2025 academic year is the introduction of one-to-one tutoring in the High and Baccalaureate. Students will have two hours a week of personalised accompaniment, focused on academic monitoring, emotional well-being and personal development. This measure aims to ensure that each student has at least one day of tutoring during the term, which will allow them to define and advance in their life project.

Logbook
The use of the logbook is extended this year to 4th ESO. This resource encourages reflection on learning itself, written expression and weekly planning, as well as serving as a space where the agreements established between student and tutor are recorded. In addition, this resource allows students to become aware of their progress and improve their personal organisation.

Free choice workshops
The free-choice workshops, which promote more flexible learning, have also been extended to students from High. Among the different options, performing arts stand out, LettersLabhealth and wellness, audiobook, film, dubbing, podcasting, MusicLabBatucada, robotics, marquetry and philosophy 3/18.

Conversation groups
With the aim of improving oral skills in Catalan and English, the school has created the Threads of conversationThe course is taught in small groups where students practise both Catalan and English languages in a dynamic way. In addition, the platform McGraw-HillThis allows individualised monitoring of progress in English, offering activities that are adapted to different levels and prepare them for external certification.

Teacher assessment and training
This academic year will see the implementation of teacher assessment in English and Catalan, with training proposals to improve their skills. This process is part of our commitment to educational excellence and ensures that teachers have the necessary skills to deliver quality teaching. The aim is to enhance their linguistic and pedagogical skills, ensuring that they can effectively transmit knowledge to pupils within the school's multilingual framework.

Canteen project
The school canteen is also a learning space, where tutors share a table with their pupils. Under the principle of "food negotiation", the aim is to reduce food waste and encourage healthy habits.

Digital coexistence protocol
CreaNova School has implemented a protocol where pupils are not allowed to use electronic devices inside the school premises and must leave them in their individual lockers. This protocol also includes teachers and non-teaching staff, as we are and want to be a reference for our students, promoting a responsible use of technology and favouring a focused and respectful learning environment.

Workshops for parents
Finally, workshops have been scheduled for our families, based on the philosophy of the system. Learning by Doing. Some of these workshops are related to mediation and philosophy 3/18, with the aim of helping families understand how their children learn to express and manage their emotions.
