A new social structure: reflections for a future that has already arrived

Javier Nuin, CEO of the CreaNova Group, presents some reflections on the social model and the school model of today and the future: we are in a time of change, in a time of opportunity..

SOCIAL MODEL AND SCHOOL MODEL

It is well known that the school model in which we live, sorry, we used to live, is the result of a model of society that we have been building, The last few decades in particular have been the product of an economic model that was first productive, then of services, and now of opportunities. In any case, we have based our educational models on two pillars:

1 - What we need children, including young people, to learn for their future, first as producers, then as consumers and service providers.

2 - How children fit into a busy society, where time and the need to produce, consume, create, destroy, is the engine of the "economy" and children must remain in places where they can be cared for, do not impede the development of the social-economic structure and contribute to the consumption system.

Structure of schools, colleges and universities TODAY

[...] I dare say that, in the last 30 years, we have gone, from building small pedagogical laboratories, so-called alternative schools, non-schools, democratic schools, free schools, learning spaces, social coexistence environments and so many others, names, each with great stakes and contributions, to develop a cultural awareness of a pedagogical model, as yet unwritten, that will serve to support a new need in today's society.

Increasingly, we are talking about collaborative business models, social, economic, cultural and political entrepreneurship. New trends that, far from going out of fashion, have become a new stage: that of opportunities.

What is certain is that, now, after this little episode, which some are keen to call a "new world order", other new realities and, ultimately, nothing more than the product of our individual and collective choicesThe school model, which we have been criticising and transforming for so long with different reforms, must evolve.

[...] The school, as a place of relationship and social interaction, a place of learning codes, in its broadest aspect, and a place of growth, beyond the nest, has a role, I dare say, that is IMPRESSIBLE.

Has anyone really realised that young people have been confined to their electronic terminals for a long time and that it has now become clear that the curtailment of their freedom of movement is just one more in their learning curve? They have been banned from the streets but their knowledge has not been limited and their ability to socialise has not been curtailed more than a little. Their schools have been closed, but has anything changed?   […]

Anatomy of the New School

With all that has been said so far, nothing new, we can already imagine a present of change. Let us not forget that we are in the stage of OPPORTUNITIES. We have a few months ahead of us, no longer years, of creativity, change, innovation and analysis of what has happened, in order to start again. Will we be able to take advantage of the "opportunity"? Let's dream... [...] [...

Structure of THE NEW SCHOOL OF THE 21ST CENTURY

As pioneers, we continue to struggle in the open field. We dream of a new paradigm that our pedagogical grandparents, Rebeca and Mauricio Wild, discovered for us, not without fear, on their part, that we were opening a door that would lead us to madness. [...]
