We are once again in luck at CreaNova! This time it has been thanks to the participation of the 4th ESO student, Sara Zarzuelo, in the 10th edition of CreaNova. Legal Science Award of the University of Vic.
The competition, organised by the Faculty of Science and Technology through the Science and Society science dissemination programme, aims to arouse interest in scientific literature among teenagers. In total, 93 stories were presented this year by students in third and fourth year of ESO from 17 secondary schools from all over Catalonia and 1 from the Valencian Country.
In this new edition, the contest has been based on the reading of the novel The path of the pest (Capital Books, 2016) by Daniel Closa, to propose two story modes from which students could choose. In the first, with a narrative text, they were asked to propose an alternative ending to the novel. On the other hand, in the second, also with a narrative format, they had to write a scientific divulgation text about effective molecules to fight against the plague bacterium.
Our student Sara chose the alternative ending and this was her evaluation of the reading of the book and the process:
It has been a most enjoyable read because it has combined intrigue and mystery with science and both themes fascinate me! I couldn't stop reading, waiting for what would happen on the next page...'.

Thank you Sara for sharing your curiosity for science and your sensitivity for literature! All of us who enjoy your moments at CreaNova are very proud of you and congratulate you... CONGRATULATIONS!
